This is the first model of services in Macedonia that will apply innovative approach in the treatment of the domestic violence. The opening of the Center has been mutual activity of the Association for Health Education and Research – H.E.R.A. and the City of Skopje. The Project has been realized under the financial support provided by the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation, which is a rare example of mutual activity of the NGOs, local communities and business sector in the Republic of Macedonia.

In the course of the past two years Komercijalna Banka provided active support to the work with the women victims of domestic violence by financing the psychotherapists, who applied their own methods for resocialization of the victims and helped for their rehabilitation and further integration in the society.

KB-Maja“Regular monitoring of the improvement achieved by the psychotherapists in their work with the victims of domestic violence inevitably imposed other issues related to the other family members, to the perpetrators, as well as to the consequences on the children.
Therefore, we are satisfied that the target groups of the Project will also cover the children victims and violence perpetrators”, said Mrs. Maja Stevkova Shterieva, member of the Board of Directors of Komercijalna Banka AD Skopje, at the opening of the Center.

In the course of the following year, Komercijalna Banka, together with NGO H.E.R.A. and the City of Skopje, will provide financial support to the Centre, with the hope that the positive results will be obtained not only in overcoming the problem, but also in the prevention therefrom, by strengthening the values and encouraging the persons, both the victims and the perpetrators in their reintegration in the society.
