New Medical Equipment Donated to the Children’s Hospital Emergency Room September 17, 2014

Linkacross1University Children’s Hospital Skopje held a ceremony on September 11th, 2014 to celebrate the donation of new equipment to its pediatric emergency room.

This is the only pediatric ER in Macedonia and cares for over 20,000 children annually from all across Macedonia.

The project was funded by Rotary Clubs and implemented by Assist International in cooperation with LinkAcross. The donated equipment includes 4 GE patient monitors, a Philips ultrasound system, 2 infusion pumps, and about 250 pieces of accompanying medical supplies. The value of the donation is approximately $32,000.

Linkacross2Assist International procured and installed the new equipment. Further, they provided training for the clinical staff on the equipment as well as one year technical support. This NGO has done about 200 similar projects in over 60 countries.

Because of its long term relationship with the Children’s Hospital and its global network, LinkAcross was able to connect the various partners in this project and provide overall project coordination. This project exemplifies our mission to link global resources to local development opportunities.

We would like to thank all the project partners for their contributions to this important project. We look forward to hearing many stories of lives being saved through this emergency room and our ongoing partnership with the Children’s Hospital.
