As a tribute to the 90-year legacy, Pivara Skopje made an original blend of the most famous representatives of contemporary art in Macedonia and the art of making beer. Part of the collection of artworks by renowned Macedonian painters of the XX century of Pivara Skopje was presented to the public for the first time, complemented by the artistic display of the authentic and exciting story of making beer and the story of Pivara Skopje, deeply embedded in the life of our community.
“We are pleased and proud to have the opportunity to share the passion for art of the people in Pivara Skopje with the public. It is clear by the desire to bring together perhaps the most valuable collection of artworks by eminent Macedonian painters and in the daily commitment to produce and offer the whole nation the perfect refreshment with the best beers and soft drinks. This way, we prove once again that Pivara Skopje has the sense and is working to preserve the genuine values important for the community to which it belongs,” said the General Manager of Pivara Skopje Aleksandar Ruzhevikj at the opening of the unique exhibition titled Art and Beer.
The exhibition contains 30 original artworks signed by authors like Lichenoski, Martinoski, Mazev, Naumoski, Chemerski, Korubin and others and represents only a part of one of the largest private art collections in the country with 116 paintings.
“It is truly an impressive display of works of the founders of modern Macedonian fine art, as well as of the most renowned representatives of the middle generation of academic painters of Macedonia. These works have priceless artistic value and great importance for our cultural heritage, which puts special weight on the care of a company, Pivara Skopje, and its effort to recognize this value and adequately invest in its preservation and promotion“, said Mirjana Taleska, curator-adviser at the National Gallery of Macedonia.
Artifacts that testify to the 90-year history of Pivara Skopje perfectly fit the exhibition of recognizable Macedonian landscapes and rich colors of the works of the great masters, but also to the process of creating, serving and consumption of beer, as a display of an original art and culture of living.
“Pivara Skopje also creates art. The art of making beer is at the heart of our existence,” says Kircho Stojanov – Beer production manager in Pivara Skopje, and adds: “Just like the great masters of painting, the essence of the art of making beer is in the way we put nature and its beauties in function, using our overall knowledge and skills. In our trade this means striking the perfect combination of the four natural ingredients that breathe life into the best beer – water, barley, hops and yeast,” one of the most experienced beer masters in the country and beyond is categorical.
The exhibition Art and Beer of Pivara Skopje, located in the Gate Macedonia, will be open to all interested visitors from June 10 to July 10 this year.
