UACS faculty professors Ilijana Petrovska, PhD and Makedonka Dimitrova, MPPM are the authors of the first business case on Macedonian company, that was published in an International Book of cases “Entrepreneurial Icebreakers: Insights and case studies from International Successful Central and Eastern European Entrepreneurs’”. The book is a collection of 15 cases of CEE entrepreneurs who succeeded on the Global market. Book editors are professors from top notch universities. The first edition is sold out while the second edition is on the way for online purchases.
Publishing the FX3X case is an example of a successful cooperation between academia and the business. With this UACS provides an opportunity to the worldwide global business schools to use and analyze case on Macedonian company. The case is useful for students to analyze how a company from a small country is succeeding on a global market, overcoming the global business challenges.
On initiative of the UACS, FX3X was nominated and awarded a New European Champion of Entrepreneurship from the International Academic Council at EFER (European Foundation for Entrepreneurship Development) in Warsaw 2011, along with 24 other companies from Central and Eastern Europe. As Champions they were selected to be included in this International Book of Cases. During the writing, the American College professors cooperated with the FX3X founders Kristijan Danilovski and Milivoje Gjorgjevik.
Writing of this case is a bold step into area of case method. Case method, or Participant Centered Learning Method (PCL) has been designed and extensively used at Harvard Business School. Today it is considered as a modern interactive way of educating students and preparing them to solve real business problems. UACS already has 16 faculty members with PCL training certificates, provided by Harvard business School and European Entrepreneurship Colloquium, thankfully to EFER (European Foundation for Entrepreneurial Research) support. University American College Skopje will continue with developing its teaching methods and providing always the innovative and effective higher education programs.
