DHL Express Macedonia, part of Deutsche Post DHL, world leading mail and logistics service group, displayed their commitment to better their local community, with 45 employees taking part in cleaning the mountain Vodno, as part of the Global Volunteer Day 2015. On Saturday, October 3rd, 2015, our employees gathered to clean up the garbage at “Sredno Vodno”, one of the most significant recreational center in Skopje and spent a memorable day enjoying the nature. By the end of the day, they had collected many bags full of waste that included plastic bags, snack packaging, cigarette butts and other non-biodegradable items.
Living Responsibility means assuming an active role in society! It means putting our strengths and core competencies to work – not only to further our own business success as a mail and logistics services group, but to actively address the social challenges we face around the world today. That is the reason why Deutsche Post DHL employees around the world took a part in annual Global Volunteer Day (GVD) by participating in many diverse community projects in support of various local causes.
DHL will continue with activities in the future in order to improve our community and raise public awareness of the need to keep public places clean. All this is part of the global campaign DP DHL, to assist and act in the local community and also to raise the passion for volunteerism among employees. CSR is important part of corporate culture of DP DHL and employees are encouraged to follow the programs through three initiatives for corporate responsibility: Go Green (Environmental Protection), Go Teach (Education), Go Help (Delivering Help).
